Everything is go for our reunion. I just talked to Dale Howell and he's made sure that we have the Muroc Club booked, we're securing a park for our picnic and he's already reserved hotel rooms for a great price. Great work Dale. As usual you're on top of your game.
The following is scheduled and we will add events as we get closer to the event:
October 6 - Desert High is celebrating 50+ years of football. The Homecoming Game will be against Silver Valley. Varsity game starts at 7:30 PM.
October 6 - DHS Luncheon/school assembly - (still tentative)
October 6 - Pre-game BBQ at the Muroc Club - this will be pay for what you eat and drink when/if you go.
October 6 - DHS Homecoming Game (time to be determined)
October 6 - Post-Game gathering at the Muroc Club - pay for what you eat or drink when/if you go..
IMPORTANT! To be able to get onto Edwards AFB, you will need to complete the Entry Authority List form available on the www.deserthigh.com website under reunions.
October 7 - Golf at Edwards AFB golf course - see below
October 7 - Dinner/Dance at the Muroc Club - send $37.50 in advance to Caryn Conklin-Hawthorne - see confirmation form

IMPORTANT
Due to security measures, you are required to be on an Entry Authorization List to have access to the base. The base will require ID when/if you plan to go on the base for the game or any other reason. We need to have the following information to give to security ahead of time: your name, last four digits of your social security number, date of birth, place of birth and citizenship (same for any guests). All this information is requested on the confirmation form. Please include it to receive access for you and any guest that will be with you. Any person needing access HAS to provide the above information. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE BASE UNLESS YOU FURNISH THE ABOVE INFORMATION, ARE ON THE LIST AND HAVE TWO FORMS OF ID WITH YOU. The EAL on www.deserthigh.com/reunions/eal.html is valid ONLY for Homecoming Game Day (Oct. 6), we will also need your information for access on the base Oct. 7.
HOTEL INFORMATION/SUGGESTIONS
A block of rooms are being held at the Oxford Suites, 1651 W Avenue K, Lancaster, CA (800) 522-3050 under "Desert High 1970's reunion". Rates for former DHS students are $78.00 for a room with a single bed and $95.00 for a room with 2 queen beds or a suite. The room rate includes high speed internet access in your room and a breakfast buffet each day. More details on the hotel are available at their website, www.oxfordsuiteslancaster.com. Reserve your rooms as early as possible.
